Who I am

Professional knowledge. Therapeutic experience. Lived understanding.

I understand change from both sides of the chair.

I met my counsellor nearly 15 years ago. She stuck by me with a quiet consistent support that I wasn’t consciously aware of at the time. There was safety, consistency, and an ear that I could rely on every week. The support that she gave me over my young adult years was life changing, shaped me into the mature, kind, empathetic, understanding, curious, self assured and head strong person I am today. She taught me what it was to learn about yourself, question yourself, recover from those ingrained experiences, change the repeated patterns going on in your life. She taught me about emotional safety, about being held in mind, about your subconscious voices, about taking accountability, seeing parts of yourself that you want to change, and finding ways to grow from things you didn’t chose to happen to you. After years of progress and the clarity that I was already doing this with friends and family, she turned to me and said have you ever thought about doing this professionally? Today, I do, and I share everything she taught me with my own clients.

Today I live with a glass half filled. In a giant glass, made of crystal, handmade, and never breakable.

This is the kind of transformation that I have experienced, and that I help my clients make in their own lives. This work is emotional. It’s meaningful, painful, insightful, vulnerable and can be life changing if you are willing to let it.

Ask yourself 3 questions – Where are you? Where do you want to be? And are you ready to invest in yourself to get there?

Therapeutic Coaching

Because I spent 14 years participating in high-level therapy, I have a deep, practical understanding of clinical methodologies from the client’s perspective. I know exactly what breakthrough moments feel like, and just how important looking in to the past can be in helping you create the life you desire.

My psychology degree gives me the academic and behavioural foundation to back up my coaching. It also ensures I know exactly where coaching ends and therapy begins, allowing me to keep my clients safely within my scope of practice.

My approach is warm, supportive and tailored to you. I combine coaching tools with psychological understanding and extensive therapeutic experience to help you explore your challenges with greater depth.

Therapy is about the past, coaching is about the future; but I believe you can not have one without the other, so I am here to help them meet in the middle. Every experience that you have had up until this point changes the way you hold yourself, interact with others and the subconscious patterns that replay in your mind. We work together to find out what they are, where they have come from, and how we can use the knowledge of the past, understand it, and use it as a tool moving forward.

Mentoring

I had incredibly difficult teenage years myself. Because of that, I speak your child's language. I don't lecture from a pedestal; I connect with them as someone who has been exactly where they are and successfully made it to the other side.

Young people can find it so difficult to know who to trust, who to confide in and who to listen to. I am not here to tell your child what to do, but help them work out what they want, what they are finding difficult and how we can move past that. I am here to be a sounding board; an unbiased support during a time that can feel so overwhelming.

I bring a unique approach that combines the academic backing of a psychology degree, the training of an ICF coach, the relatability of someone who survived very difficult teen years, and 14 years of first-hand experience navigating the therapeutic process. This means I can offer your child the psychological safety they need, with the peer-level trust that actually makes a young person listen and open up.
